Second Calanque today – this time we headed out from Cassis’s Port Miou towards Port Pin – amazing wander along a path overlooking a small port and an arm out to the sea, ending at a small paradise beach, with hardly anyone around. Chilled there for a while enjoying the view and the smells. Stuck in major post-football-at-the-VĂ©lodrome traffic on the way home, which is probably part of the Marseille experience. Last night here ![]()
Day trip to Ko Phi Phi today – and yes, we went snorkelling where ‘The Beach’ was filmed – it had to be done. I have never seen water like it – so clear and clean, you could see 4 metres down. Unbelievable. I’m glad we decided to stay in Koh Lanta though, less beautiful but, logically, less packed.
We’ve landed on Koh Lanta for the next ten days – it was difficult to decide which of the hundreds of islands to head for but we’re not regretting it so far. Koh Lanta lacks the awesome limestone outcrops of other islands but is peppered with impressively long beaches with crystal clear water – and the atmosphere is decidedly relaxed.
I’ll try not to post too many sunset images… but this fishing boy was too perfect to resist. I am still suspecting he may have been paid to fish through the sunset!
Breakfast on the beach works too…
